Compass Project
The HIV Councelling and Testing campaign (HCT) is a National campaign to drive individuals and communities to take personal and collective responsibility to stop new HIV infections, provide care and support to those living with HIV and to ensure access to treatment for all people in need. One of the objectives of this campaign is to create a quick and easy entry point to accessing wellness and treatment services for those who test HIV-positive. MapIT stepped in and sponsored an online web mapping tool for this campaign. The tool allows users to enter where they are and locate the 5 nearest HIV testing facilities.

Comrades Marathon
Annually MapIT sponsors Comrades organisers with an online route facility of the race. The web map allows runners to view the route, get access to distance points, refreshment stations and medical points. This online map service allows runners to better prepare and orientate themselves for the day of the race.

Map-a-Doc
Map-a-doc is an easy-to-use consumer website designed to locate a doctor, dentist, or any other medical professional on a detailed, searchable map of South Africa.
MapIT, Southern Africa’s leading enabler of technological mapping solutions and Mims, publishers of medical information, partnered with each other to create the effective Map-a-doc directory website.

Times Explorer
The Times Live Explorer project is a live 10 week exploration of South Africa. The Explorer team can be followed on an interactive map of South Africa. The Explorer project is an imaginative demonstration of what geo-location and enriched data can add to accurate mapping on a website.

Two Oceans Marathon
A route map for one of the world’s most beautiful marathons. The map is sponsored annually by MapIT and displays the 56km ultra and 21km half marathon against an overlay of the route onto a detailed street map of Cape Town and surroundings. With the interactive map loaded, visitors can access relevant information to assist with pre-race planning or calculate the best route to avoid road closures, the map also displays refreshments stations or medical stations.

Momentum 94.7 Cycle Challenge
To facilitate cyclists and residents prior to and on the day of the race, MapIT supplies a route profile and interactive mapping. This event on par with cycling races worldwide and is one of South Africa's most revered sporting events. The map information includes refreshment points, medical stations and distance markers to supply cyclists with information to plan their race strategy. The routing function allows residents and travellers to avoid road closures and get alternate routes around the race route on the day of the race.

Momentum Big Heart 750
MapIT has created a cutting-edge digital map for the Momentum Big Heart 750. Eight Momentum staff members are taking this cause to heart as they set out to run a gruelling 750km from the Momentum Head Office in Centurion to Durban. The runners are hoping to raise awareness and funds in support of the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Discovery 702 Walk The Talk
MapIT created a fun and interactive digital map for officials, participants, local residents and their supporters in this year’s Discovery 702 Walk the Talk. The versatile web map contains numerous interactive features which are designed to make life easier for walkers, spectators and residents: street level zooming, an automated routing function to navigate around road closures, water and doggy point locations along all four routes: 5km, 8km, 15km and 30km.

Jumping Kids Fundraising Project
MapIT is a proud supporter of Jumping Kids – a prosthetic fund for disabled children. In collaboration with Henrich Du Preez from the Radical Group, Paul Bisogno from ‘Jumping Kids’ and the A-Z Golf Challenge, the project aims to raise funds for Anthony Butler, a disabled South African golfer. MapIT provided an interactive web map for the 10 day fundraising project, plotting each golf course along the route. The map will include live tracking in partnership with Tracklocate, and will cover in excess of 6 500km, tracking Du Preez along the way.
