LOCATION-BASED SERVICES
Consumer interest in advanced location-based mobile applications is at an all-time high, thanks to the latest wave of innovative smartphones and hand-held devices.
Digital mapping provides new opportunities to explore location-based services, helping you develop and implement positional products and services to help your clients pinpoint a location and get to their destination.
Geo-referenced services include social networking products, child location products, permission-based people locaters and directory information. These products combine location with the relevant database information needed by your clients to find food, lodging, entertainment, family members, your car, your child, your fleet, and your staff on the move.
MapIT supplies the digital mapping that powers Vodacom's location-based services Look4me to find loved ones or employees, and Look4help which is a mobile panic button service that notifies up to 4 other cell users of your location in an emergency. MapIT's data can also be found behind MTN's recently launched WhereRU and 2MyAid.
iFind is a mobile directory service and job portal that uses our spatial data to locate a service-provider such as a florist, attorney, doctor, plumber, or estate agent. Users locate businesses and search for career opportunities by texting an SMS enquiry and desired location to iFind, and a matching directory listing is sent back.
